This workshop which is new for 2019 is especially suitable for community groups such as Brownies and Cubs as it looks at the importance of looking after the Night Sky and tackles the issue of light pollution.
It can also be used within a school setting and linked to environmental pollution topics.
Participants take on the role of "Dark Sky Ranger" and through a series of small illustrative experiments investigate what the effects of light pollution actually are. We also discover some wonders of the night sky and look at practical ways in which such views can be preserved for future generations. The whole session culminates in learning about star constellations and making some to take home! If weather permits, there will also be the opportunity for some real life stargazing out in the open.
